Maintenance and Adjustment of Circular Knitting Machine

Dec 01, 2023

Proper maintenance and regular adjustments are crucial for the efficient and safe operation of a circular knitting machine. This guide outlines the technical standards, primary checks, and adjustments required to ensure optimal performance. The focus includes the inspection of key components, such as the motor, drive belts, dust blowing system, and yarn feeding transmission system.

Technical Standards:

  1. Precision Inspection:

  • Upper needle plate flatness: Standard ≤ 0.05 mm
  • Upper needle plate roundness: Standard ≤ 0.05 mm
  • Lower needle cylinder roundness: Standard ≤ 0.05 mm
  • Lower needle cylinder flatness: Standard ≤ 0.05 mm
  • Roundness match between upper needle plate and lower needle cylinder: Standard ≤ 0.05 mm
  • Gap between upper plate triangle and needle cylinder: 0.15 mm-0.20 mm
  • Gap between lower plate triangle and needle cylinder: 0.15 mm-0.20 mm
  1. Primary Adjustments:

(1) Motor Drive Inspection

(2) Motor Belt Inspection and Adjustment

(3) Dust Blowing System Adjustment

(4) Yarn Feeding Transmission System Adjustment

  • Yarn Feed Aluminum Plate Micro Adjustment
  • Yarn Feeding Transmission Belt Tension Adjustment

(5) Lubrication Inspection:

  • Verify the motor's drive direction immediately upon connecting the power supply. Adjust the wiring if the direction is different from the labeled direction on the motor housing.
  • Check the tension of the motor drive belt. Adjust the tension until the linear deformation of the belt, under 1-1.8kg pressure, does not exceed 3.5mm. Re-adjust the motor position if necessary.
  • Ensure precise adjustment of the dust blowing system's fan to cover every corner effectively when in operation.
  • Adjust the diameter of the yarn feed aluminum plate to fine-tune the transmission speed ratio and alter the yarn feeding amount. Range: 70mm-200mm.
  • Adjust the tension of the yarn feeding transmission belt to prevent slipping. Ensure even force distribution on the entire circumference of the yarn storage wheel.
  • Regularly inspect and lubricate the transmission system and fabric roll system to prevent wear and tear. Daily replenishment of grease is essential to maintain optimal performance.

Regular adherence to these maintenance and adjustment procedures will contribute to the longevity and efficiency of the circular knitting machine. Periodic checks and meticulous attention to detail ensure smooth operation and high-quality fabric production.
